My Friends,
Please join us for worship this Sunday morning, live streaming at 9:00 a.m. for our Contemporary Worship Service and 11:00 a.m. for our Traditional Worship Service. You can find us on our website, www.westminster-church.org, and connect with us there.
We will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper, virtually, so be prepared with your bread and cup.
I also have other news! The Session, at our August 17 meeting, set the metrics for us to open for in-person worship and directed Louise and me to make that decision as the metrics were met.
We have followed the numbers since that meeting, have conferred often, and been in constant prayer for the physical and spiritual well-being of our members.
We have decided that we can and should open for in-person worship on Sunday, September 13, for the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services.
Protocols are in place for safely gathering:
• Masks are required
• Designated seating that is socially distant
• Hand sanitizers and masks will be available
• Entry through the front door and north and south breezeways only
• Sanctuary will be cleaned after both services
• Reservations are requested and will be available for one week at a time
To make reservations, visit our website at www.westminster-church.org and you will find the link for reservations, or click the button below. If you cannot to do this online, please call Peg Kinsey at the church office at 412-835-6630.
We look forward to welcoming those of you who will be able to join with us in the sanctuary. We will continue to live stream our services so that we all may worship, that no matter where we are, we are united as the one body of Christ.
Blessings and peace,
Bruce Lancaster

Sangli Industrial School in India Begins Renovations
Westminster Church has supported the Sangli Industrial School (SIS) since 1990, along with three other local projects. The roof of the more than 100 year old Chapel Hall, where Sangli Industrial School (SIS) has its daily Christian worship services and its classrooms, was severely damaged last year as monsoon floods inundated its campus and destroyed much of its classroom equipment -- welding, auto mechanics, electrical, small engine repair, HVAC, etc.
|
|
|
The families of the American Presbyterian missionaries who directed SIS from around 1946 to 1985 have donated $25,000 to repair the roof. And, a Westminster Endowment Fund grant of $30,000 will replace the equipment once the roof is completed.
On September 3, 2020, SIS held a thanksgiving prayer service as the renovations began. Please give thanks to God that Westminster Church and SIS' missionary families can save this Presbyterian mission!
