Friday, May 1
Hello friends,

In some ways we are moving fast – news keeps pouring in; in other ways we are still stopped – staying at home – waiting.

Our Session approved the formation of a Vision Task Force that had its first Zoom meeting this past Tuesday. We know our reopening will be guided by government and public health directives, and we will follow the phases of Red, Yellow, and Green as we create a plan to be as prepared as possible to reopen.

The Task Force is divided into teams, from Worship to Technology and all areas of ministry in between. Each team will develop key steps to take in each of the governor’s phases: Red – where we are now; Yellow – slowly reopening as allowed; Green – open for worship and large group gatherings as allowed.

Communication with the congregation will come through emails, the Westminster website, and the Westminster Weekly on Fridays. Together we will move forward with new ways to thrive in ministry, care, outreach, having fun in our life together, and staying connected as we grow in Christ’s love.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)

Today's Hymn
Here I Am, Lord

I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin my hand will save.
I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send?

Refrain : Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard you calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold your people I my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them. They turn away.
I will break their hearts of stone, give them hears for love alone.
I will speak my word to them. Whom shall I send? (Refrain)

I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them. My hand will save.
Finest break I will provide till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send? (Refrain)
