Green & Gold Gala
You are cordially invited to York Catholic's Green & Gold Gala, a festive evening of cocktails, dining, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and fun on Saturday, April 6, from 6-10 PM at the Country Club of York.
Please join us as we celebrate our YC pride and successes throughout the year.  All proceeds will benefit our York Catholic Fund, enabling us to invest in tuition assistance for those in need, a vibrant curriculum, technology upgrades, the arts and athletics, resources for our valued teachers, and the beautification and safety of our school.
Our planning committee is actively seeking donations for our live and silent auctions.  If you can contribute a gift certificate to a local restaurant or business, tickets to a sporting/cultural event, local attraction or getaway, it will truly help our efforts and make a difference in the lives of our students.  All donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes and grateful acknowledgement at the Green & Gold Gala.

Parent Referral Program
If you know a friend, family member, or anyone looking for a high-quality, Christ-centered education for their children who do not already attend a Catholic school, you could receive a $250 credit toward your child's tuition at York Catholic.
York Catholic's Parent Referral Program is a win-win for everyone involved. Referred students receive an outstanding education from York Catholic, while parents of the referred families get peace of mind knowing their child is gaining so much more than just a top-notch education.  Families who refer someone who registers at York Catholic receive a $250 credit towards their child's tuition.
You, as parents, are our best ambassadors.   In order for the Parent Referral Program to be a success, we need information about individuals who may be interested in joining the York Catholic family. All you need to do is click HERE to fill out the form. If the family you refer attends York Catholic through their first semester, your family's tuition will be credited $250, spread into 4 credits applied to the months of February, March, April, and May.
It really is that simple. So go ahead. Please click on the link above and allow us the opportunity to do what we love -- help to develop, nurture and encourage children so they may grow in faith, mind, and heart. Mail or email the form to us and we will take it from there!
The Parent Referral Program is open to all parents of current York Catholic students. The tuition credit is not available for referring your own children. The $250 credit is only good toward tuition on a student's account; no cash is given, and it is non-transferrable. A referred student applies only to a new student from a non-partner school.
Thank you for all you do for our school!
Financial Aid Appointments
Our Advancement Department continues to work hard with our donors to increase tuition assistance opportunities for our students. If you plan to apply for assistance, please be sure to do so no later than April 15, 2019. If you require assistance in completing this application, you may contact our Business Office Manager, Ms. Heather Dougherty, at  hdougherty@yorkcatholic.org or 717-846-8871 x215 to schedule an appointment for March 19 or March 20.

Retreat - Grade 9
Our 9th Grade students will be on a service retreat on Thursday, March 7, at various locations within York City and at St. Mary's Parish. This will be a Service retreat as we work alongside others who work for the needy in our city. We pray this retreat day will strengthen the students' personal relationship with our Lord by serving those in need around York. We will serve others in the morning and gather for lunch, discussion, and Mass in the afternoon. These retreat hours do not count toward Service Hour requirements.
Special Olympics of PA Winter Games
Chaperones Needed
York Catholic High School is teaming up with Special Olympics of Pennsylvania in support of their March 2-3 Winter Olympics event being held in York (at the Ice Rink and at 3 other venues in town). This event will include the participation of nearly 700 Special Olympians from throughout the entire state, competing in multiple types of competitions. Dozens of YC students are among over 400 volunteers working to make the weekend a success.
Parents, it's not too late to get involved: additional chaperones would be welcomed. Most students will be helping out by being great "Fans in the Stands," and chaperones will be doing the same (while helping to keep an eye on the students). E-mail John Driscoll no later than t omorrow, Friday, March 1,  at  jdriscoll@yorkcatholic.org   if you could take a shift for a few hours on Saturday between 1:30 PM & 5 PM or Sunday between 9:45 AM & 4:30 PM.
Spring Sports Deadline
Spring sports teams begin practices on Monday, March 4. For exact practice times, contact the head coach or Mr. Bankos at kbankos@yorkcatholic.org or 717-846-8871 x214.
Students wishing to participate in athletics must have the following paperwork filed online at ArbiterAthlete.com:
  • PIAA Physical Form
  • Athlete & Parent Agreement (last page of physical form)
  • ImPACT Test
Failure to submit the online paperwork by the deadline will mean the student will not be permitted to practice the first day of the season. For some sports, this could mean the student will not make the team. Click here to access the instructions for uploading information to ArbiterAthlete. Students wishing to play a spring sport MUST verify the paperwork and ImPACT test are on file with Mr. Hayek or Mr. Cross no later than tomorrow, Friday, March 1, at 3 PM; no exceptions.
Good Luck Swimmers!

Good luck to the swimmers representing York Catholic at this weekend's District Championships. Even though YC does not have a swim team, these athletes put in the training time and qualified to compete against the best swimmers in PA. Good luck to Claire Laux, Jessica McMurray, Timothy Ventura, Laura Laux, and Maddie Janusz (left to right).
Inclement Weather
During inclement weather that would cause a school closing or delay of schedule, York Catholic will call/text/email you through our One Call Now Emergency Notification system. Other modes of notification include WGAL TV-8, Fox43, and the YC website. Students from individual school districts are automatically excused if their district closes and does not provide transportation to YCHS. The exceptions to this are Southern and Southeastern. These students follow York Catholic's delay and closing schedule.
