DelCo Supervisors, State Representative to Hold Q & A on Economic Development on March 24
The public is invited to attend a Delaware County Chamber of Commerce sponsored roundtable discussion on the state and future of Delaware County and how to remove barriers to community growth, on Tuesday, March 24 at 11:30 a.m.
Omar Sanders, Director for Intergovernmental Affairs at Empire State Development, Mark Tuthill, Delhi Supervisor and Vice-Chair of the Delaware County Board of Supervisors, and Dennis Valente, Davenport Supervisor and Chairperson of Delaware County Economic Development Committee, will share their insights on the progress of local economic development efforts.
The event includes a luncheon buffet prepared by SUNY Delhi culinary arts students at Bluestone at the college golf course, followed by an informative discussion by our panelists and a question and answer session. Come prepared to join the conversation.

SUNY Delhi is developing a new degree in Applied Communication.
As part of the development process, the SUNY Delhi team is seeking feedback from potential employers-specifically regarding future jobs available for our graduates.
As you may know, excellent communication skills are among the most sought after skills in nearly every field or industry today.
The degree in Applied Communication will require students to become interdisciplinary thinkers. Graduates will take courses in communication, business, humanities, and computer sciences, and complete three field experiences or internships. They will be equipped to work in any job requiring exceptional communication skills, such as positions in administration, outreach, public relations, social media, writing and publishing, and others.

Chamber Member Delhi Telephone Company Raises More Than $11K for Local Fire Departments
In 2019 Delhi Telephone Company sponsored four meet and greet events at local fire departments or town halls where local residents were invited to enjoy a free lunch while learning about available fiber optic services in their communities.
For each residence that signed up for service, DTC donated $25 for a total of $11,125 divided between
fire departments in Sidney Center, Trout Creek, Masonville and Franklin, as well as the Masonville Library.

Friends of the Upper Delaware River 'One Bug' Fundraiser
One Bug Event on the Upper Delaware River will be held on the weekend of May 1-3, 2020. The One Bug has become the signature kickoff event for the recreational season on the Upper Delaware River.

The Nominating Committee of the Chamber Board is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Chamber Board of Directors. Terms are a three-year period and begin on May 15.
To serve as a director, you must be a Delaware County Chamber of Commerce member and have a willingness to work collaboratively toward accomplishing the goals of the organization.
Self nominations are encouraged.
A ballot of all candidates will be distributed to active members by March 15. Certified results will be announced in April.
Notary Public Workshop in Delhi on March 10
SUNY Delhi will be offering a Notary Public Workshop on campus, March 10, 2020 from 9 am to 1 pm. This workshop prepares individuals for the NYS Notary test, provides a comprehensive view of the Notary Public Office, and gives examples of situations that the Notary Publics are likely to encounter. Participants must pre-register before March 4, 2020. No walk-ins will be allowed. 5 Hour Pre-Licensing/Defensive Driver Course in Delhi
2020 classes have been scheduled at SUNY Delhi for the New York State approved 5-hour pre-licensing course for drivers to learn the rules of the road and safe driving principles.
