Agri-Business Scholarships

Congratulations Carolyn Remer and Ralph Roesler on being this year's Agri-Business scholarship recipients! Agri-Business Committee Vice Chair Josh Meyer of Jennie-O Turkey Store was happy to attend the scholarship celebration at Ridgewater College in March. Carolyn and Ralph are both pursuing careers in agriculture. The funds for these scholarships are raised at the Chamber's Aggie Open golf tournament. This year the golf tournament will take place on June 26th at Little Crow Golf Resort.

South Gap Groundbreaking

After years of advocacy, collaboration, and planning, construction began yesterday on the South Gap of Highway 23 (New London to Paynesville).The Highway 23 Coalition, local city, state, and county representatives, federal and state lawmakers, transportation officials, and community members celebrated the groundbreaking at the Roseville Township Hall in Hawick on Friday afternoon. Construction is expected to be complete in the fall of 2024 and will improve safety and enhance opportunity for economic development along the corridor. Ambassadors participating in this event: Vicki Davis (Fladeboe Land and City of Willmar), Amber Barber (320 Real Estate Co), Alana Ziehl (Kandiyohi County Food Shelf), Dave Feist (TPI Hospitality), Jeff Jensen and Mary Hagen (West Central Technology, Inc.), Jim Rudnick (CDS), and Connor Hutton (Pioneer Heritage).

The Melvin's Throwback will serve as the Chamber's annual fundraising event and is being organized by the Special Events Committee. Additionally, raffle tickets will be available for purchase beginning in May with the drawing to take place at the event. The top prize will be $5,000 cash. Stay tuned for more information!
