March is Minnesota Food Share Month

March is Minnesota Food Share Month! The more money Kandiyohi County Food Shelf raises from Feb 26 through April 6, the more it receives from Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches. Did you know that $20 donation can purchase almost $200 food from Second Harvest Heartland? The food shelf has seen a big increase in the need for food assistance with its greatest demand from residents in Willmar, New London and Raymond.

CLUES and YMCA Visit Willmar High School

The Business Education Network and the Willmar Senior High welcomed Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA and CLUES on February 28th. The students were able to roll a dice to answer questions about CLUES and learn about the various programs at the YMCA. Zero Hour is the first hour every other Wednesday for students to catch up on tests or missing work. Those that do not have work to catch up on are in the commons area until classes start at 9am. This gives provides the opportunity to showcase all the fantastic businesses right here in the Willmar Lakes Area.
