Area Alumni Profile - Meet Elsa and Kory Pontbriand
Kory and Elsa both grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from IMHS. In 2010, Kory’s job at MJ Electric brought him back to the Iron Mountain area. Elsa joined him in 2011 working remotely and then starting a marketing and communication consultancy. In 2017, she founded CWRK Collective , a co-working community in downtown Iron Mountain. She also joined BOSS Snowplow as eCommerce and Parts Marketing Manager in 2017, and continues to operate the two businesses she founded. Elsa noted that she found the local community to be a very supportive business start-up environment for her ventures, with less barriers than typically found in large cities.

After living out of the area, Kory and Elsa decided to move back permanently to be close to family while raising their daughter. They knew they were making the right decision through their positive experiences with the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church Shepherd’s Preschool program, the Woodland Childcare Center, and Woodland Elementary.

The Pontbriand’s love boating the local waterways in the summer and rediscovering the hidden gems of the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin, as well as spending time with family. They are active supporters of the Dickinson Ballet Company and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) of Iron Mountain.
