Central Rappahannock Regional Library
October 8, 2021
This month, there’s a lot going on at the library. Young children and their caregivers can enjoy our Happy Halloween Grow a Reader Special online, anytime. Readers of all ages can add Hallow-Read Around the World to their Beanstack challenges and learn more about the season's traditions while earning fun badges. Looking for a good read? Our October Staff Picks list includes books that could give you shivers.

Looking for your next book group selection? You'll find more than 350 titles to choose from in our Book Group in a Bag service, a convenient way to keep your readers well stocked with great books. Speaking of gatherings of readers, join the We the Readers Civic Book Group online this month to discuss Lori Gottlieb's timely book on mental health, Maybe You Should Talk to Someone: A Therapist, HER Therapist, and Our Lives.

If you'd like to take a break from screen time, join us for a leisurely afternoon walking tour of historic downtown Fredericksburg. October 22-25, Porter Branch will host the Stafford Piecemakers Quilt Guild Annual Show, a must-visit for those who appreciate creative and timeless handicrafts.

We're taking entries for the Teen Stop Motion Video Contest through October 15. If you like, you can make an appointment to get the IdeaSpace AV Booth badge for more movie-making skills. Speaking of tech, now you can use your mobile device to check out at the library after you download the updated CRRL Mobile app.

Chillier nights making you want to stay inside? Take the opportunity to stream selections from our Hispanic Heritage Month Movies & Documentaries list via our Kanopy service. If you or a loved one would enjoy having a (virtual) visit with a sweet pup, sign up for Paws for Reading/Time with Therapy Dog.

Why not make it part of your routine to check our monthly @ Your Library publication, available online and in print? It has dozens of suggestions for things to read and do--online and @ Your Library!
Inspiring lifelong learning for everyone in our community.
