The Y will be open 8:00 am–6:00 pm on Labor Day. Please note: the Play Center will not be open in the evening on Labor Day.

Zumba & Zumba Kids

Do you love to dance? Join us for an exciting aerobic workout class that incorporates dance movements, a fun-filled class where exercising and dancing collide!

Welcoming Week • September 8–17

Welcoming Week is a chance for neighbors—both immigrants and U.S.-born residents—to get to know one another and celebrate what unites us as a community. Together, we can make sure everyone feels like they belong. Check out some of our Welcoming Week activities and events!

Friday, 9/8: Kickoff

Days of Service Friday, 9/8 from 9–10:30 am. Help us pack hygiene kits for 300 families at the Y. Register here .
A World Map will be out at the front desk where everyone can put stickers on it to signify where you are from!
Bring in a friend to sign up for a membership and you both get a free gift while supplies last!
There will be music from all over the world all week long!

Monday, 9/11: Games

Enjoy many different games from around the world in the lobby today!

Mancala from Africa
Moksha Patam from India (aka Snakes and Ladders)

Tuesday, 9/12: Tastes

Come in and try some food from around the world!

Bring in a recipe from your childhood! No matter if you are from Atlanta, Alabama, Germany, France, India, or anywhere in the world! We want to celebrate us all by putting together a community recipe book made by all of us here at the Y!
You can also bring in your own small bite treat to share in the lobby! Just make sure to list the ingredients to make sure everyone is safe and can enjoy!

Wednesday, 9/13: Wellness

Yoga class inspired by Indian culture.
Visit the display in the lobby to learn more about India and the culture surrounding wellness and yoga!

Thursday, 9/14: Sports

8:30–11 am: Pickleball group meets in the basketball court! An intro for beginners will help you learn how to play both pickleball and badminton, as well as learn the history behind both sports!
6:30–8:30pm: Badminton group meets in the basketball court!

Friday, 9/15: Languages

Come in to see the entire lobby decorated with greetings from around the world!
Special word puzzles in the lobby with different greetings!
Mountain View Library will be visiting us to encourage library card sign-ups!
An evening of language and music hosted at the McCleskey-East Cobb Family YMCA where we can hear different languages spoken all night long!
