WHS Theatre Presents Annie

Spring isn't official until you see our WHS Spring Theatre production!  This year the production is Annie and it is sure to be a hit.

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners, Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including " Tomorrow."

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

Annie is the perfect family-friendly musical.

Grade Level Centers

Over the next few months we will continue to add information and updates to our Grade Level Center page.  We will also be reaching out to parents, staff, and community members over the next few months for input as we continue to plan.

Your concerns, questions, and suggestions were invaluable to us as we worked through transportation and configuration plans and we are looking forward to continued input to help guide our process moving forward.

We encourage parents and community members to continue to visit our GLC page for updates and we'll be reaching out to you soon for help with the next phase of the project in preparation for the 2018-2019 school year.

AIR Testing - Parent Information Night

With Spring comes AIR (American Institutes for Research) testing in our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. Our testing will begin in April in our elementary buildings. Testing can be a stressful time for parents and students both.

We are planning a District-wide information night for all WCS parents and caregivers that would like to learn more.  Attendees can learn how students are preparing for the assessments in their classrooms with teachers.

AIR Family Night:
When:  March 15th at 6:00 pm
Where:  Denver Place Elementary

Celebrating our Students

Breaking News from Instagram @officialwmsnews:  Charles Mountjoy is heading to the Math Counts State Competition on March 10th!  He placed 8th out of nearly 100 competitors last weekend at the Dayton Chapter competition.  Way to go, Charles, and good luck on March 10th.

We've collected some recent articles highlighting recent student accomplishments. We hope you'll take a minute and read up on our awesome WCS students.  We think you'll be just as proud of them as we are.
