| Greetings! |
Still living with that contractor white paint that you moved in to? Today I will challenge the concept of the "white wall"! We choose white walls because it feels safe, because we have been told that to paint in a distinct color might lower the resale of our homes, because we aren't quite sure what our style choice is and put the decision off for another day or season. Today you will hear from other people who have taken the bold step of color and finally feel that their homes have a personality and a warmth that they enjoy. Read on for the latest tips in color selection! |

When we built our house, we had two weeks to paint two coats on every surface. Painting it all bone colored seemed the easiest thing to do and we would decide on color later on. All of a sudden twelve years had passed and everything was still bone color. You get so you really don't see things after a long while. We chose a nice light cocoa color for our open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. We were so pleased with the change. The rooms seem more warm and inviting. The color change inspired us to also think about furniture, art work, accessories and plants. I'm even inspired to keep the rooms more neat and clean. I feel more like entertaining and inviting friends to visit. We love our colorful rooms and are ready to "Banish the Bone" in the rest of the rooms in our home. . Kathy and Frank

Oh, how AVERAGE were our bedroom walls-a common construction off-white! We became accustomed to the blandness after several years. Then one day we returned from a brief vacation to find gorgeous pine needle (a soft dusty grey/green color) walls. Christine and her siblings had re-done the room. What a transformation! Even the furniture and drapes looked better with the new color. As we lay in bed, the dresser mirror expanded the beauty.> Color does miracles! Thanks Christine. L. Maxwell |
