CONFERENCE NEWS
2017 Conference Journal
The print version of the 2017 Conference Journal has been mailed to those outside of the Anchorage area.  To save the conference money, I will hand deliver journals this weekend during the clergy and committee meetings for the people that will be there.  Lay and clergy members of the annual conference will receive a copy either directly or through your church.  Churches and other ministry settings also receive a copy.  The digital copy of the journal will be put on the conference website once it is received.

Questions about the content should go to the conference secretary (outgoing - Teri Erbele, incoming, Karen Martin Tichenor).  Updates to the contact information should be sent to the conference office.
Send off for David & Aleen Fison
After many decades serving and loving the people called United Methodist in Alaska, David and Aleen Fison are moving to a UM retirement community in Washington State. We will thank them, celebrate their years of service and love, and pray God's blessing upon them this Sunday at the 9:15am worship service at St John UMC. Following the worship service, we will have a time of fellowship with cake and coffee to honor them. Please join us this Sunday, October 8, to thank the Fisons and celebrate their ministry.
September Apportionment Report
Money The September apportionment report has been posted to the conference website.  View it here.  There are only 3 months left in the year to pay your apportionments.

Florida churches and post-Irma recovery

Texas Conference needs volunteers
While Irma survivors are still in recovery mode and Maria survivors are still assessing the damage, the Texas Conference is pleading for volunteers to come help with the response to Harvey's record-breaking floods. "We need help immediately," said Scott Moore, the conference's disaster response coordinator.
