New Yarn from Australia!

We're delighted to introduce Great Southern Yarn to you and the shop. We met these wonderful folks at our recent show in Phoenix and we were very impressed by the colors, their approach, and the fabulous yarn!

EM Sport is single-origin sourced from Mount Bodangora Merino, a six-generation merino ranch who is committed to an ethical and sustainable approach to animal welfare. Mount Bodangora is part of the ‘SustainaWOOL’ integrity scheme, an accreditation program run by Italian woollen mills to ensure a high standard of care for the sheep and their environment. Mount Bodangora run a mob of sheep especially for Great Southern Yarn to supply them a longer length fleece of around 100mm or four inches to create the best of yarns. The colour range is inspired and named after Australian female artists and their paintings.

This is the plumpest sport weight we've ever seen so we think it will knit just fine as a DK. It is so soft and delicious, it's sure to be a favorite

Mulberry Silk!
Brand new from Lang is Mulberry Silk. This 100% Mulberry Silk yarn features a chainette construction, so you get great yardage on a 50 gram ball!

It works up to a Sport/DK weight and is perfect for any piece that requires draw and a bit of elegance.

Even better, it's machine washable!

Save the date!

The 3rd annual Local Yarn Store Day is Saturday April 25!

Come in for unique items, special events, and fun.

Auntie
Auntie Woolie Says...
Dahlin's!

We're having so much fun creating new classes and events for you, as well as finding new yarns. We're very excited about the new silk and the new Australian merino yarn. We have so many new Spring/Summer yarns in, it's hard to believe!

While we do ship yarn all over the US (you have checked out our secure web site , yes?) we're also very excited about next month's Local Yarn Store Day ! As many of you know, this is the third edition of this nationwide event and every year it just gets more fun.

We are pleased this little idea we had has exploded across the US and Canada. We love hearing about the thousands of yarnies who flood into their local shops and support independent brick and mortar stores. So plan on coming in to experience the fun we continue to have.

Until next time...

Happy Stitching!
Interesting Bits!

If you’ve ever looked at a top-down triangular shawl and thought, “I like it -- but it’s going to take forever to get to the interesting bits,” then this is the shawl for you.

It has a conventional top-down option, but there’s also a scarf version that skips all the lead-up and begins right where the slip-stitch pattern is. So whether you’re in the mood for some (fairly) mindless knitting first, or just want to skip to the interesting bits, this one’s for you!

The shawl is knit with 3 skeins of Milo and the scarf is knit with two (2) skeins of Feliz from our friends at Manos del Uruguay, we think you'll love this fun pattern.

The yarns are always in stock, so order some up today and get to those Interesting Bits!

Another new class!

Attention Crocheters AND Knitters - this class is for you! Join us on Saturday, May 16 and Learn to make the Ball & Skein Market bag. We'll be teaching the knit and crochet version at the same time with two different instructors, so all you need to do is decide if you want to knit one or crochet one! Kris will be teaching the knit version and Bell will be teaching the Crocheted version. Both will come with the yarn and the pattern!

You can still join us for the "Unlocked Knit-a-Long" featuring Concentric - a 100% baby alpaca yarn

This KAL is a lot of fun, and you get to work with this delicious yarn. Order the two skeins from us, and it ships free!

KALs can be done anywhere, no need to be near the shop. You can, of course, order the yarn from us. We'll also be around to help you with any questions during the KAL.

Check out our Calendar for our Events and Classes!
We'll keep it updated with our latest, confirmed events and classes.
