The CARE Ministry touches every ministry at St. Michael’s in one form or another. In Belinda’s brief, personal testimony above you can clearly feel from her words the evidence of a loving, caring, and heartfelt call to use her gifts and talents for the Children and Family Ministry through CARE.
How do you like to share your love of Jesus Christ with others? Is it through gardening, writing, knitting, cooking, fixing things, making encouraging phone calls, or personal outreach to those in need? The Congregational CARE Task Force is about using your God-given passion, gifts and talents to serve those in need in your Church Family.
Many people feel that they are not gifted or talented in anything. I personally do not believe this is true. Recently I shared with you the example of Chuck Scherer, one of our faithful parishioners who really did not know he had a gift. What we discovered from many people that knew Chuck that his gift was his love, enthusiasm and passion for his beloved church, St. Michael’s; and with this gift he planted a seed that touched the heart of many about the importance of attending Church.
Once I asked a personal trainer, what is the most important thing about starting a good work-out routine? The instructor looked at me with a smile and said, “ Just showing up!”
The CARE Valentine message I would like to leave with you today is just a simple request. Bless others as you have been blessed. Use your passion, and God given gifts and talent to be the hands and feet of Christ for your Church Family. Just pick a ministry, any ministry at St. Michael’s and JUST SHOW UP. God will do the rest.
We love because He first loved us.
John 14:19 NIV
