Workshops and Programs Fall 2017

We are excited to offer a number of different learning opportunities in a variety of art forms this Fall.  Located right in the heart of downtown Carpinteria, the Arts Center has something for everyone to enjoy, whether you like painting or working with polymer clay, fusing glass or learning to play a new instrument.  There are workshops for children and adults.

Summer Whimsical Wednesday 
Art Tours and Excursions
A rt related events and tours typically on the first Wednesday of every month; however, this may vary depending on the programming and location of the venue.  We visit local galleries and museums, as well as Los Angeles art institutions.   All of our tours have a maximum number of participants.  To reserve a place on one of these excursions, register at CarpinteriaArtsCenter.org  or stop by the gallery Thursday through Monday, 10 to 4.  There is a minimal registration fee for local tours, payable to the Carpinteria Arts Center before the registration deadline for each event.


July 5 (Wednesday) 1:30-2:30 10 West Gallery and Sullivan Goss American Art Gallery in Santa Barbara.  Tour two of the most happening downtown galleries with new gallery owners Jan Ziegler and Nathan Vonk and meet exhibiting artists.  Both galleries are within walking distance of each other. 
Fee: $11/$10 with 10% member discount


August 2   (Wednesday) 1:30-2:30 Ginny Speirs Studio.   
Ginny will lead us on a private tour of her Victorian home and studio.  Enjoy some Southern hospitality and share in the creative spirit of this Alabama born oil painter who colorfully and playfully captures the essence of her sitter whether it be a dog, bird, or succulent.
Fee: $11/$10 with member discount

The Carpinteria Arts Center presents the 10 th  annual Fine Arts and Handcrafted Bazaar during the Avocado Festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 7 th  and 8 th , on the grounds of the Arts Center.  

Please click here   for the vendor requirements.  Each artisan must submit an application for participation by  August 4 th .  This is a  juried show  and applicants will be notified by email or phone if they've been accepted by August 18 th .  Space is limited and we want to insure a variety and balance of craftsmanship and art.  We regret we will not be able to accept all applicants.
