Cate student Biba Duffy Boscagli's pop up show was held in the LoBue Gallery at the Carpinteria Arts Center from November 3rd through November 6th.
The show exhibited student art of all mediums from across Santa Barbara and Carpinteria. One of the interactive activities within the gallery invited the public to vote on their three favorite pieces. With over 250 votes cast, three winners were announced. The first place goes to Chloe Singer for her Koi piece. Chloe is a senior at Carpinteria High School, and works in a large variety of mediums including ceramics. The piece consists of two handmade ceramic fish, which showcase beautiful movement and intricate detail. The second place winner is Torin Aguilar for his piece E-40, My Ghetto Report Card. Torin is a twelve year old homeschool student. He is a self-taught artist and created his piece using colored pencils and marker. His use of materials conveys the subject's facial expression perfectly. The third place winner is Kate Tunnel. Kate is a Cate High School student who enjoys studio mediums such as paint or graphite. Her beautiful charcoal piece is titled Vulnerable. The gallery was a great success, and we welcome the community to join us in celebration of the three winners, as well as all the students who participated in the gallery.
