The Latest News from the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary
Letter from Jenny/Matt

Catherine told us that one day she would care for all animals – they were her love affair and nurturing them, her passion. The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary is that dream fulfilled for our little girl lost too soon. But more than a dream it is a reminder and assurance that out of darkness comes light and out of loss comes hope.

The past three years have left us humbled by overwhelming generosity, encouraged by the hearts of so many, and reminds us of the hope we found following Catherine’s death. It is because of kindness that the beauty of this Sanctuary has already begun to unfold in the smiles of the children attending our workshops and the animals that have found their forever homes through our programs.

As we begin a new phase of this extraordinary journey, we look forward to sharing the Sanctuary’s exciting updates, events and progress in our quarterly newsletter. We invite you to help bring the Sanctuary vision to life, to join us as we create this most special place – a place Catherine would consider the most beautiful on earth.

As we enter the regulatory and permitting process for the Sanctuary build, we are taking the steps needed to create a state of the art facility that cherishes each animal and the land that it stewards. With your help, construction of the Sanctuary will begin in 2017! See the beauty of all that’s to come.
When Dr. Jane Goodall reached out to Jenny and Matt Hubbard in 2013, they had no idea that three years later, they would be partnering to bring her youth-led action program, Roots & Shoots, to the Sanctuary. Now, twenty amazing children have joined to make a positive difference in Newtown and the surrounding communities. Their first project? Building awareness and education surrounding Connecticut’s native coyotes, bobcats and bears. Learn more about Roots & Shoots as they celebrate their 25th anniversary.

Calendar Fairfield County Giving Day
On March 10, 2016, Connecticut promoted Fairfield County Giving Day...a 24-hour period when regional non-profits compete for prizes and donations of $10 or more. We are so pleased to announce that the CVH Foundation exceeded it's goal of $13,000 which included gifts from 17 different states. Your sentiments, support, pictures, and butterflies lit up Facebook & Instagram and helped us garner so much support for the Sanctuary. Our hearts are overwhelmed by your kindness and our gratitude is beyond words. Thank you for making Fairfield County Giving Day such a success! We hope you enjoy this video that celebrates "Kind Like Catherine" pictures shared with us on Facebook.
