Volunteering Expands Your Chamber Experience
Like any good nonprofit organization, our Chamber relies on the commitment and investment of many volunteers. In return, our volunteers experience greater connection with the Chamber community, and the community at large, resulting in new partnerships and relationships – and often an expanded customer base.
Throughout the year, we welcome new volunteer Ambassadors and Committee Members. Each fall we welcome applications for our Board of Directors. We are excited to share information about how you can get involved in any of these opportunities.
Ambassadors serve as front-line volunteers at mixers and events, and participate in strategic outreach to Chamber members. They meet for an hour each month to plan activities, and commit an additional 2-3 hours monthly to volunteer at mixers plus extended time for our Annual Awards Gala. The exposure they and their companies receive is a key benefit, as is the training and experience gained in leadership, customer service, public speaking and outreach. (Plus, it’s one of the most fun groups around!) Those interested can complete an application.
Committee Members meet for 1-2 hours each month to engage in conversations and planning that directly influence the work of the Chamber, and often have opportunity to meet with community leaders who are making change happen across our region. Our Business and Industry Committee supports expanded business activity. The Business and Education Committee supports emerging education and workforce development priorities. Government Affairs explores opportunities for the Chamber to advocate on behalf of our Chamber members. The Organization Committee supports event and membership activities. Any Chamber member is eligible to serve on a committee.
Board Members are elected by all Chamber members and have responsibility for the strategic direction and fiduciary strength of the Chamber. They serve 3-year terms, commit 2-3 hours per month to prepare for and engage in Board meetings, are expected to attend Chamber events, and must also serve on a Committee. We will be accepting applications for Board Membership in October.
Interested in joining the team? Please contact Susan Gillespie (susan@eurekachamber.com).
With appreciation,
Nancy
