A Quiet Start to the New Year

January is a time to start fresh, regroup and get ready for the year ahead. While it might be tempting to hibernate, there are still opportunities to get out and enjoy our towns in the off-season. Let's keep each other updated on businesses that take a break and those who keep their doors open through the winter - we've started a list: Winter Retail & Restaurants - Wiscasset Area - if you have updates or corrections please get in touch.

Visit Portland/Visit Maine launched a website of restaurants and lodging offering mid-week specials to encourage customers to come out during the week. Winter Weekdays - list of promotions. Locally, Back River Bistro is participating – Wednesday: ½ price wine bottles & $2 oysters.

We also have Maine Restaurant Week to look forward to – March 1-12, 2026.

Chamber Member Dave's Disposal would like to introduce you to their mascot, Marty, as they announce a fresh rebranding for the New Year. New logo, same great service. Design work by Carissa Creatives in Richmond. Apparel by Boundless Impressions in Wiscasset.
