Rude's Lanes Badger Honor Flight Fundraiser

Back in February, Rude's Lanes hosted their Annual Badger Honor Flight Fundraiser and with the help of many and the gracious and generous donations collected from local businesses and organizations - we were able to raise & donate $14,500 to Badger Honor Flight to send Veterans on the April flight to Washington DC.

Deb Klimke wasn't able to make the check presentation due to a catering event, but we would like to give her a BIG SHOUT OUT for all the work she and the volunteers have done over the years to hold these fundraising events and to be able to donate to a great cause!

2025 National Small Business Week

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the agenda for the National Small Business Week Virtual Summit, a free online event that will be held May 6-7. Registration is required.

The Virtual Summit, co-sponsored by SCORE, will feature more than a dozen educational workshops led by cosponsors, access to federal resources, and networking and mentorship opportunities. The virtual summit is part of the 2025 National Small Business Week taking place May 4-10.

“As America’s top provider of free, expert small business mentoring, SCORE is proud to help drive the nation’s small business engine,” said SCORE CEO Bridget Weston. “Through this year’s Virtual Summit, we will meet entrepreneurs where they are, providing expert insights on timely topics alongside the tools and resources needed to achieve success.”

Monday, May 12 at 6:00 p.m. – We’ll recognize the first public meeting of DAHS with cake and special guests. Christian Overland, Executive Director of the Wisconsin State Historical Society, will be the guest speaker!

Evening Tour of the Hansen-Newell-Bennett House Museum

Monday, June 30 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. We’ll celebrate when we became a chartered Historical Society. Serving lemonade and popcorn. Lawn games, such as croquet and corn hole bean bag toss will be offered.

The new Windsor Municipal Building is nearing completion. The Open House will be Saturday, June 14 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

What you see here is one of the new exhibit cases in the building. It will feature a display of historical items about Windsor. We're excited to put this all together!

We're asking for your help. While we have a large collection of artifacts, they're mainly connected to DeForest. So, if you have items you are willing to donate or loan to us, please take a photo of them and email to dahs53532@gmail.com

We're looking for historical items like these that have a direct connection to Windsor:

• Old farm tools

• Clothing from different eras

• Household items, such as furniture, pottery, glassware, and other items used in homes

• Personal items that provide a connection to the past

• Tools and products related to Windsor industries like farming or manufacturing



Memory Screening at the Library

Friday, May 2nd, 10am - 12pm

Presented by a Dane County Aging and Disability Resource Center Memory Care Specialist

A memory screen is a wellness tool that helps identify possible changes in memory. It creates a baseline so future changes can be monitored.

Specialists from the Dane County Aging and Disability Resource Center will provide free 10-minute memory screenings at the Library in Room C.

You can also get information about memory, memory clinics, brain health, and local resources.

Circle B Inc Landscape Supply has partnered with Fitchburg Farms LLC to offer a beautiful selection of plants for sale. Proceeds will go to Blessings in a Backpack - Deforest Area Schools chapter which provides food on the weekends for local Deforest/Windsor 4K through high school children who might otherwise go hungry. This will be our 6th year hosting this wonderful event!

There will be a great selection of hanging plants, annuals, perennials, bushes, and shrubs. Along with the plants, there will also be Baked Goods from Windsor Breads and Coffee and Beverages from Donna Maes Coffee Co.

This event is hosted in an enclosed large space so we will be there rain or shine.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive!

Saturday, May 10th, 2025

Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive will be on SATURDAY, MAY 10th.

Round up your non‑perishables and load them into

fabric grocery totes you’re willing to part with or plastic grocery bags.

On May 10, place your filled bags by your mailbox by 8 a.m. Your letter carrier will whisk everything straight to Mission Nutrition DeForest at 691 S. Main Street!

Non‑perishable items are always welcome in the big white donation box by the front door.
