From Rev. Brock Patterson
"Fall Dreams of a Full Sanctuary"
Woohoo! The first day of Fall is Thursday, September 22. I’ve always loved this time of year. It makes me remember those many days of wearing flannel shirts, splitting firewood, and preparing for the upcoming hunting seasons. Alas, now that I live in paradise, I’ve traded my flannels and boots for tropical shirts and boat shoes. However, I find that I’m just as happy about the arrival of Fall, especially with the return of our snowbirds. I’m excited to see our friends again and I’m eagerly anticipating the gatherings that are being planned!
But of course, I wouldn’t be a proper pastor if I wasn’t also excited to see the Chapel sanctuary full again. Sure, worship attendance has been very good this summer at your Chapel, which is probably why I'm eagerly anticipating the sanctuary to be full again this Fall.
However, it's easy to forget that the Chapel doesn’t have to be full to be effective in
accomplishing the tasks that God needs us to complete. One of the lessons that we learned through COVID is that even a worldwide pandemic can’t stop God’s blessings. Though I might want a full sanctuary, God doesn't need it to provide enough blessings for us to share with our neighbors.
No matter what, God will provide for everything if I trust the LORD with all of my heart and soul. I might be hoping and praying for God to respond in a certain way, but God might know an even better way to accomplish His objectives.
Stay safe and healthy! God is doing some wonderful things at your Chapel because of you!
God Bless. Brock.
