From Rev. Brock Patterson
This past week, we began our new Bible Study and Worship series. If you missed last week's study or worship, no worries! Each week is independent and stands on its own, so if you miss a week, you won't fall behind! This is important because it removes one of the excuses I sometimes use to avoid a book, television program, or film series. I don't like to start things that I can't finish, nor do I like to jump into the middle of something that has already begun.
Does this make sense? Rarely will I watch episode two if I haven't seen episode one. I want to start at the beginning of something, and if I can't do that, then I tend to avoid it completely. Does anyone else experience this problem? Maybe I'm the only one guilty of this silly neurosis. I'm sure plenty of psychologists and other smart people are already diagnosing my real problem, but I don't think it's a sign of something more serious. Instead, it's just a nervous tic that sometimes causes me to Miss Out.
Occasionally, I miss the beginning of something. Other times, I miss the middle of something else and I can't make it up. Either way, it's okay. Just because I can't catch all of something doesn't mean I have to Miss Out on everything else. An extra-special opportunity might be here and the LORD doesn't want me to Miss Out!
See you this Wednesday and Sunday at YOUR Chapel!
God Bless. Brock.
