"Give MiMi Some Love"

This upcoming Sunday, July 31, 2022, will be MiMi Horwitz's final day in worship as the Chapel's leader and director of Pastoral Care. She's not running away; rather, she is retiring after sixteen years of service at the Chapel!

Following worship this Sunday, MiMi will be honored at a reception at the Chapel. I hope that you are planning to attend, or if you aren't on the island this weekend, please consider sending her a note or card. I know she would like to hear from you. MiMi has helped many of us stay out of trouble, and even when we didn't follow her counsel, she still helped to bail us out of trouble when we needed it. She's genuine. She's the real deal and we are all better people because of her leadership, wisdom, and laughter. Given all of the help she provided to us over the years, I think she deserves a proper "Thank You!" Don't you? 

Come give MiMi some love this week! If you can't attend, drop something in the mail to the Chapel office. We'll make sure she gets it and I know she'll be a happy camper to know how much we love and appreciate her years of service and love!

Staffing Adjustments

During the most recent Chapel Board Meeting, several exciting staff adjustments were approved. Jeff Nunes, who has served as the Chapel's interim administrative assistant, will become the Pastoral Care Coordinator as he begins seminary (online distance learning) on August 1, 2022. Janie Peterson, a recent member of the Chapel, has been hired as our Office Manager at the Chapel. She will assume all of Jeff's former duties, as well as take care of several other office management duties. Susan Schaefer's job title is being changed to Business Manager, to more accurately reflect her duties and responsibilities at the Chapel. Everything else remains unchanged in the staff structure, but we think these adjustments will help the Chapel continue to grow! Give these folks a big "Thank You" and a pat on the back!
