PROJECT UPDATES

Traffic Notice: Howard Drive NW

Howard Drive NW will remain closed between West Bay Drive and 2nd Ave NW while the work progresses on the Horizon Reclaimed Water Main Extension project. This is necessary for Biltmore’s excavation contractor to complete the west connection of the new 16” reclaimed water main to the existing reclaim water main. This closure will be extended through October due to the recent weather delays. Biltmore and their contractor will be coordinating traffic management to ensure residents living within the construction area have safe access into and out of the project limits. We are coordinating with the contractor to allow for storm debris removal.

Gladys Street Improvements

The Gladys Street Improvements project construction has been impacted by Hurricane Milton. The City and contractor are working together to address the recent storm damage, remove storm debris, and continue the roadway payment improvements and selective concrete curb replacement. This phase of the work requires the closure of Gladys Street from Dryer Avenue to Wilcox Road. Local traffic only will be permitted. The construction work will continue into November. A short-term closure of Lauren Drive at Glady Street will be in place October 17 through October 22. Lauren Drive will remain open at 134th Ave. to local traffic.

Damrosch Street Emergency Sewer Repair

An emergency repair of a sanitary sewer pipeline on Damrosch Street is currently being performed. This project began as the repair of the sanitary sewer in a single location and has been extended to address the complete replacement of the failing sanitary sewer pipeline between the manholes. The pipeline replacement has been completed and is back in service. The restoration of the roadway and lawn areas disturbed during construction are underway, along with storm debris removal. The contractor has opened the north section of the roadway for temporary access to the residents of the project. This work requires the continue closure of Damrosch Street south of E. Rosary Road and north of Damrosch Circle. This project will continue over the next several weeks.

Whispering Pines Manor Roadway and Drainage Improvements

The construction of the drainage improvements, irrigation repairs, lawn restoration, and asphalt milling and paving within the Whispering Pines Manor Subdivision are complete. Minor punch list activities are underway.

Lake Breeze Estates Pinellas County Water Main Improvements

Esquire Manor Improvements

The water main and drainage improvements construction operations will continue over the next several weeks. The roadway improvements will follow the completion of the subsurface work.

Church Creek Drainage Project PH-III

Project construction has been impacted by Hurricane Milton. We are working with the contractor to address the storm damage and continue the completion of the project restoration work.

3rd Avenue SW Drainage Improvements

This project has encountered a delay in the restoration work with the recent storm. The lawn restoration work will continue over the next week, and the project will be in place for approximately two more weeks.
