Library Announces Santa Barbara Reads Title
The Library invites the community to read and celebrate Joy Harjo's An American Sunrise as a part of this year's annual SB Reads program. Mission Canyon Bridge Studies at City Council on August 10

Slurry Seal Treatments on City Streets 
Beginning on August 9, the City will be implementing slurry seal treatments on various high priority streets. This preventative maintenance operation will extend the life of the roadways, while creating a smoother road surface. The slurry work and striping of the streets is scheduled for completion by late Fall 2021. Read More ...
Natural Gas Prohibition for New Buildings 
The City Council has adopted an ordinance that prohibits the installation of natural gas infrastructure in newly constructed buildings as part of its effort to achieve carbon neutrality by 2035. Existing buildings are generally not impacted by this change. Certain exemptions to the ordinance are allowed for restaurants, clean rooms, laboratories and projects where electrification is not feasible. Read More ...
