A Message from the Director
First, I would like to thank all of you who made #GivingTuesday a grand success! Thanks to your generous gifts and support from Allan Myers, we were able to raise over $5,000 in a single day!!

Second, as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Conservancy doesn't receive a single dollar from county, state or federal programs to support our general operating expenses... this means we rely completely on you to keep us up and running!

When you think about giving this holiday season, please consider supporting the Conservancy. Community conservation takes all of us, and we certainly need you this giving season!

Thanks, and I hope to see you at one of our upcoming events!

Don't let Ole' Man Winter get you down...
Join us for the 14th Annual Pennsylvania Championship Snowshoe Race at Spring Mount Ski Area.  This year's event is shaping up to the best ever!

We have a great course, a great cause, and a great after-party!

The Snowshoe 5k is great for pros, newbies, kids, runners and walkers alike. Bring your own snowshoes or rent a pair from us. After the race, Boardroom Spirits of Lansdale will be providing hot rum cider for those over 21 (with valid ID) and cider without the punch for those too young to belly up to the bar.
Don't wait... this race is sure to be a sell-out!

September through November
Thanks to your help, we have completed another successful Plant-A-Thon season. As most of you know, this year was particularly challenging because of the unrelenting rain. Despite several rescheduled plantings, we managed to plant thousands of native trees, shrubs and perennials at 8 different sites throughout the watershed! Thank you to all the volunteers who braved the wet weather and helped to make this year's Plant-A-Thon a success! We look forward to working with you again next fall!

In the meantime, we are starting to gear up for the 2019 Stream Clean-up which is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th. Be sure to check our website over the next few months as sign-ups go live to reserve your spot. Know of any sites in the watershed that need a little TLC? Suggest a site for us to include in this year's clean-up with the TrashSpot App.

The board and staff of the Conservancy would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Charles W. Koenig for his support of the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy through a charitable contribution!

Since 2013, Dr. Koenig has made yearly contributions to the Conservancy in support of early childhood education.  These funds have enabled the Conservancy to offer reduced rate environmental education programs to area preschools, providing science-based, hands-on programs to over 700 preschool children!  The children in these programs were delighted to learn about the adaptations and habitat requirements of a variety of animals including those that live at the top and bottom of our earth and those that live underground.

Research has shown that early and frequent contact with the nature helps to instill love and respect for the natural world that can begin the journey to environmental literacy. Thanks again to Mr. Koenig for his generous support!
