A Message from the Director
Today marks exactly one month until the Perk to Park Bicycling Adventure! We've completely revamped the event by adding two route options AND by reversing the ride in order to finish at Green Lane Park! Riders can now choose between 10 and 20-mile options... and best of all... we'll have brews, eats, and treats waiting for you at the lake! Come for the ride and stay for the party!!

Also this fall, we have a great Out and About line-up! The season kicks off in September with Botany by Boat in the Pine Barrens. We'll join Kathy Salisbury (Director of the Temple Ambler Arboretum) for a day on the water in search of carnivorous pitcher plants and sundews. In October, we head to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary to watch the fall migration and for a little hike, which I like to the call the "Grand Tour"! Also, back by popular demand is Yoga at the Perk. Join us on Wednesday evenings as we get our stretch on!

Be on the watch for updates regarding the Perkiomen Plant-A-Thon. We have some big projects coming up this fall... including tree plantings, rain garden construction, and a BIG streambank restoration project... more details to follow!

Finally, the Perkiomen Creek Water Trail project is moving right along. Earlier this year we finished the Feasibility Study and recently received two additional grants, which will help us produce a waterproof trail map and paddling guide. We're currently recruiting water trail committee members and trail maintainers... if you love paddling the Perk and want to lend a hand... send me an email!
Enjoy the weather, and I hope to see you "out there"!

Lake Delmont, Marlborough Township
Friday, August 9th | 10:00 am

As summer draws to a close, so does the water chestnut season. Thanks to our volunteers, this summer marks another successful year of management! We held a total of 9 volunteer workdays at two infestation locations within the watershed. At Lake Delmont in Marlborough Township, we had a total of 55 volunteers help us remove 500 bags of water chestnut! A total of 30 volunteers came out to hand-pull 225 bags of water chestnut from Ruth Pond in Sellersville! A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who helped us continue to manage this invasive species!
Sad you missed out on the fun?  We still have one volunteer workday left! Join us on Friday, August 9th at Lake Delmont.

Want to support the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy?

Own a business or have a special craft or skill?

Donating an item to the Conservancy’s annual silent auction is a great way to show your support AND show-off your goods and talents!

On Friday, November 1st, our watershed community will once again gather to celebrate and support the watershed while honoring individuals and organizations that are dedicated to protecting the land and water resources of our local environment. During the Benefit, attendees will enjoy a locally sourced silent auction, a lively wine ring toss game, cocktails, raffles, delicious appetizers, great company, and more! The silent auction held during the Benefit is our largest annual fundraiser and is vital to supporting our environmental education programs and conservation projects.

Think you might have an item to donate to our silent auction?
Visit our website to learn how donating can be a WIN-WIN!

We've made a lot of progress in our efforts to clean-up after the flood that devastated our "Discovery Room" and storage areas at the Conservancy. We're very appreciative to all of you who reached out and supported us in our time of need. As you can see, we still have shelves to fill and toys and other supplies to replace. If you're thinking of donating, we can still use your help!
Thank you once again!
