RETREAT HOUSE
The Revd Brian Heinrich, Vicar of St Aidan and St Bartholomew, Gibsons, and Nathan, his partner, welcome those wishing to take some time away for retreat. Their retreat house -
The Consolation of the Theotokos - is minutes away from the Langdale terminal.
To date, it has been used for three diocesan pre-ordination retreats, Corpus Christi Chapter of the Society of Catholic Priests (SCP), and several parish and individual retreatants.
Nathan and Brian are able to provide (spectacular!) meals, as well.

CARE+SHARE CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Standing Committee on Mission and Ministry Development is now receiving proposals for ministries which will share in the funding from the Diocese of New Westminster’s voluntary giving program: care+share in the years 2020 & 2021.
Mission and Ministry Development Committee recommend recipients for the next cycle of funding to Diocesan Synod.
Ministries included in care+share do not receive 'diocesan funding'; they receive voluntary contributions made by parishes and individual Anglicans, sent to the Diocesan Office which is forwarded, several times a year, to the care+share ministry groups.
The ministry proposed as a care+share recipient must be an operating project (not a pilot), undertaken in partnership with other organizations (one of which is an Anglican parish), that addresses at least one of the current Diocesan Strategic Priorities. More details and the application
can be found on this page of the diocesan website
or by connecting with Phil Colvin at the Diocesan Offices.
Applications
are due on March 29

DIOCESAN SYNOD - MAY 24 & MAY 25, ITALIAN CULTURAL CENTRE
from Frances Fagan, Synod Planning Committee Chair:
The theme for Diocesan Synod 2019 (May 24 & 25) is
Love One Another: Christ’s Body, the Church
(John 15:12). It is both the gospel lesson for the day and the beginning of the verses our Primate, Archbishop Fred Hiltz, uses as foundational scripture to his work, The Heartbeat of the Church. We are fortunate that our Primate will be with us at our 119th Synod, preaching at Morning Prayer and speaking to us about our church’s ministry and witness nationally and globally.
The theme,
Love One and Other: Christ’s Body, the Church
, draws our attention to our Diocesan Vision Priority “
Our God entrusts us with the stewardship of our lives and our communities.”
One bread, one body
One Lord of all
One cup of blessing which we bless
And we, though many
Throughout the earth
We are one body in this one Lord
[Common Praise, #73]
As one faithful body we embrace the opportunity to learn about the remarkable work taking places in ministries around our diocese and the revision and updating of our Constitution and Canons. Interactive presentations, table discussions and feed-back will be used to encourage an atmosphere or learning, discovery and discussion.
