New Primate Elected


On Thursday, June 26th, 2025, Anglicans from across Canada elected the Rt. Rev. Shane Parker, Bishop of Ottawa, to be Primate and Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Canada. He was installed at the closing Eucharist of the General Synod on Sunday, June 29th.


The General Synod also considered a number of other matters of significance to the life of Anglicans across the country, including strategic priorities arising from the report of the Primate's Commission and a new diaconal theology statements. Wildfire & Flooding Relief and Resilience


In partnership with Alongside Hope (formerly known as PWRDF), the Ecclesiastical Province of BC/Yukon have launched an initiative to provide funds for parishes or dioceses/Territory for the purposes of building resilience, supporting recovery and enabling creative ways to respond to potential wildfires or floods. The Alongside Hope grant is $50,000 and will be dispersed by a committee for grants up to $8000

Celebration of New Ministry - The Rev. Vineet Samuel


The Rev. Vineet Samuel will be formally installed into his new ministry at St John's, Maple Ridge and Holy Spirit, Whonnock on Wednesday, July 30th at St John's, Maple Ridge. Clergy are invited to vest. The liturgical colour is Green.

Local Parish Supports Jerusalem Hospital


Church of the Holy Trinity, White Rock is fundraising to support the St. John of Jersualem Eye Hospital. It it is the only provider of eye care in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, treating over 135,000 people annually.


The parish has set a goal of raising $18,000, which will go towards training an Ophthalmic Nurse for the hospital at the Sir Stephen Miller School of Nursing. Donations can be sent to: Church of the Holy Trinity White Rock, 15115 Roper Avenue, White Rock, BC V4B 2E8, and note “Eye Hospital” on the donation.

FORMATION OPPORTUNITIES

Camp Artaban for Clergy


Never been to Camp Artaban before? Have you not been in years and years? This is an opportunity for clergy to come to Camp Artaban on Gambier Island for a day to explore and learn more about the ministry taking place there. The day will include a site tour, worship together in the outdoor chapel, and a choice of various activities, which may include time alone in a beautiful setting, if you wish. Some details still need to be confirmed, but the plan is for a water taxi to depart from Horseshoe Bay around 10 am and return around 5 pm. 


The cost of the day is $100, which includes a water taxi from Horseshoe Bay as well as lunch and snacks. Clergy Continuing Education funds may be applied to this day.

POSITION: Musician (part-time)

St. Helen’s Anglican Church, Surrey, BC, seeks a qualified musician on piano and pipe organ for the parish's Music Ministry. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Rector in planning liturgy, music, and hymn selections for each season. Over time, as the choir develops, additional rehearsal time led by the musician may be required. Remuneration commensurate with experience and qualifications, as described in the Royal Canadian College of Organists (RCCO) Salary Guidelines.
