What Would A New Heart Do?
I will sprinkle clean water upon you to cleanse you from all your impurities
and from all your idols I will cleanse you. I will give you
a new heart and place a new spirit within you. (Ez 36: 25-26)

These verses appear pretty regularly in the morning prayer of the Church so I come across them frequently. But one day, the phrase that says, “I will give you a new heart,” caught my special attention.

Diocese of Providence maintains hotline to report suspected financial misconduct
By Rick Snizek, Executive Editor, Rhode Island Catholic
PROVIDENCE — In its commitment to the practice of stewardship and accountability, the Diocese of Providence continues to maintain a hotline for the reporting of suspected financial misconduct across its parishes, schools and agencies.

The Financial Accountability Hotline, initiated in 2013, is administered by NAVEX Global, an independent third-party company. The company’s EthicsPoint program assists employers and employees by allowing them to work together to address fraud, abuse and other misconduct in the workplace, while maintaining an accountable, positive work environment.

About the Diocesan Financial Accountability Hotline
Those with concerns relative to financial misconduct at a Catholic parish, school or at the diocesan level may call toll free 1.888.581.2145, to share details of potentially improper activities. Individuals may also share information online at http://dioceseofprovidence.ethicspoint.com. Please note that Navex Global/EthicsPoint will only field and process financial information.

Diocesan Youth Day makes ‘empowered’ return to Our Lady of Fatima Church for day of faith, fun
By Daniel J. Holmes, Rhode Island Catholic Correspondent
CUMBERLAND — Diocesan Youth Day made an “empowered” return to Our Lady of Fatima Church on Sunday, Sept. 11, bringing together young adults from parishes across the state for a day of faith, friendship and fun. This was the third time that the annual gathering was able to be held, as plans for the 2020 Youth Day had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Activities for this year’s event included live music, workshops, games, Adoration, and Mass with Auxiliary Bishop Robert Evans.

The 2021 Diocesan Youth Day will took place on September 11 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Cumberland, under the theme “Empowered.” The day included music, games, workshops, Mass, Adoration, reconciliation, food, fun and more. Photo: Daniel J. Holmes, Rhode Island Catholic Correspondent
PLEASE TAKE ACTION
In a 218-211 vote today, Fri., Sept. 24, the House passed the "Women's Health Protection Act."

The Senate will be voting on this next - please contact your senator on the most radical abortion bill of all time.

The so-called “Women’s Health Protection Act” (H.R. 3755/S. 1975) would impose abortion on demand, at any stage of pregnancy. It would apply nationwide—even in states that don’t want it.
