ILLNESS AND EXCLUSION
We are, unfortunately, in the season of many illnesses. While it is definitely a challenge to rearrange work schedules for a sick child, we ask that you keep your child home if they are ill. When an ill child attends, despite protocols to help decrease the spread of illness, we often see a cycle of sharing with the rest of the class and, ultimately, the teachers. We currently have many teachers out battling illness and are nearing the point of not being able to find adequate coverage to provide care. Our goal is to keep everyone safe and healthy, and have our program open for all of our intended days. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure that happens! As a reminder, here are some of the things we do to decrease the spread of illness:
- Frequent, proper handwashing
- The cleaning and sanitizing of tables before and after meals and after activities
- Frequent cleaning of toys
- A thorough cleaning each night by our custodial service
- Each child has their own cubby to keep their items separate
As an additional note, If your child remains in extended care for preschool, you will find their belongings in their cubby in their homeroom classroom, not necessarily their extended care classroom. This is in effort to keep everyone's items separated and in their own space.
