Hello everyone!!! Heather from Backer Farm here! I'm so pleased to be sharing our first "news from the farmstead" email with you all - an occasional, lighthearted update from the farmstead filled with info on current and upcoming products, tales from the farm, yummy recipes, and a much-needed chuckle. We thank you for your continued support of our farm, eating local, and supporting small businesses!

Please allow me to introduce myself to anyone new here! My husband and I are fourth generation farmers/ranchers. We live on and farm our family's (almost 100-year-old) farm in Mendham, New Jersey. We have two beautiful kiddos who already have a passion for farming and natural living. We pride ourselves on raising our animals on pasture, naturally, without the use of growth hormones, gmos, antibiotics, or other stuff you don't want in your food. We use all natural growing practices for our veggies. We make our own hay for our animals too!! We're also a Certified River Friendly Farm!! Our turkey preordering is up and running!! We have 9 birds left with several pick-up/delivery options available!!

Prepping for the end of market season - we are busy setting up our online ordering system, as well as delivery/pick-up locations and dates so that we make sure you always have access to our meats and eggs!! I will circle back with the link. In the meantime, you can still find us at:

• Backer Farm Farm Stand Mendham 9am-8pm every day, year round
• Rutgers Cook's Garden Market Fridays 11/3, 11/17, 12/1, 12/15 11-3pm
• Montgomery Farmers Market Saturdays 11/4, 11/18, 12/9 9-12pm...and then the 4th Saturdays in February, March, and April
• Bernardsville Farmer's Market Saturdays through 12/16 9-1pm and then we resume in January for the winter market Saturdays 10am-12pm through April

Monroe/Millstone patrons!!!! We'll be seeing you at the Harvest Market at the Monroe Township Library on November 21 11-3pm!!!

Product updates!!! We've grown our herd to keep up with all of the wonderful requests for beef!!! All of our beef cuts will be back in stock (and should remain "in stock") January 2024. We'll be well prepared for winter orders and a great 2024 season at our markets!!

Pork chops (bone-in and bone less) along with original smoked bacon will back in two-three weeks.

We'll be offering turkey cuts (bone-in and boneless breasts, drumsticks, thighs) at the markets and in our farm stand this November!!!!
