Four U.S. Airports Among World's Busiest in 2024

All 10 of the world's busiest airports in 2024 saw year-over-year capacity growth, according to an OAG report released Tuesday. The list includes four U.S. airports—down from five in 2023—along with three in Asia, two in Europe, and one in the Middle East.

Alaska Adds Three New Nonstops

Alaska Airlines will launch three new year-round nonstop routes beginning May 15, the carrier announced Tuesday.

Here’s what’s coming:

• Portland, OR, to Houston, TX: Daily service on a spacious Boeing 737.
• Portland, OR, to Eugene, OR: Twice-daily flights on the comfortable Embraer E175.
• San Diego, CA, to Medford, OR: Daily service also on the Embraer E175.

But that’s not all! Alaska Airlines is also increasing frequencies on some popular routes:

• Portland to Medford will now have four daily flights, up from just one.
• Portland to Redmond, OR, will jump to three flights per day.
