News from the Foundation
Welcome to the News from the Foundation, a quarterly e-newsletter from the Foundation for Plastic Recycling, the philanthropic arm of the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR).
"Buy Recycled!" Educational Initiative
To help change the public narrative and perception about plastics recycling and promote the Circular Economy, the Foundation has established a “Buy Recycled!” educational initiative. The goal of the educational initiative is to ultimately change consumer behavior, and by doing so, increase collection rates and demand for recycled products.  This multi-faceted initiative will allow the Foundation to play an important role in educating the public about the “FACTS” surrounding plastics recycling so that consumers, the plastics packaging industry, solid waste coordinators and local governments and communities have a realistic and positive view of plastics recycling.

Additional information will be forthcoming – stay tuned!
Ed Socci and Stephanie Baker Join the Foundation Board
The Foundation for Plastic Recycling is governed by a diverse 9-member Board of Directors including industry leaders from the plastic recycling arena, as well as representatives from the foundation and nonprofit community. Recently, the Foundation elected two new members to serve on the Board of Directors: Ed Socci, Director for PepsiCo, and Stephanie Baker, Director of Market Development for KW Plastics.

Please Support our Efforts!
As the year end approaches, please consider including the Foundation in your charitable giving. Our efforts to make a lasting impression can’t take effect unless we have the financial support of those in the industry who want to see sustainability solutions that embrace and increase recycling efforts. Your investment in the Foundation is 100% tax deductible, to the extent allowable by law.

As the Foundation further defines our areas of focus, we are most appreciative of all donors who invest in our mission and provide valuable financial support as we continue to evolve and develop programs and initiatives. We are particularly indebted to our “Sustainability Circle” major donors who have made a commitment to support the Foundation. We are pleased to announce that Procter & Gamble and APR are the first distinguished members of the Sustainability Circle - Thank you for your support!
