Love Song
By: Judith Terrameo, OSF
| |
|
I am a love song
held tenderly in the
heart of God.
A harmonious flow
of notes –
I in you
You in me
we are beauty
set to music

Flowing Grace
By: Rose Bernhardt, OSF
| |
|
O God of the Universe,
You are love beyond telling.
You are within me,
You are without me,
You extend far beyond my reach
And far beyond my sight,
Yet, you are within my reach
And within my sight.
By revealing yourself to me
Through others
Through nature
Through the universe
I stand in awe contemplating the vastness
And the connectedness with all of creation.

Something is Rumbling
By: Judith Terrameo, OSF
| |
|
Something is a rumble within me!
A dis-ease dwells within,
Forcing change.
But everything within me
Resists, O God.
Life is a process of change.
Indeed, to be the person whom
I was a year ago
would not have grown at all.
Change –
Uncomfortable as it shows
Its inner movement –
Yet, holds scared possibility for transformation.
The pangs of birth
Are not easy –
The labor tense
And stressful.
The invitation still –
To birth change
To birth newness.
To birth you, O God,
Into a world suffering
And torn to pieces.
Not easy
But the call you hold out to me.

FSA Associate Kathy Doyle marched in the Chatham, New Jersey, 4th of July parade with her daughter, Carole Dinnhaupt and family. Carole is a Board member of the Chatham Historical Society which was celebrating the 100th Anniversary of its founding.
The Historical Society’s decorated trucks were loaded with bubble makers to the delight of children of all ages lining the streets. Kathy’s granddaughter MK looked like Lady Liberty as she shot her bubbles into the crowd.

Associates at the Museum

"There she is!" was our first reaction when we entered the Polly King Art exhibit in the Castellani Art Museum at Niagara University in Lewiston, NY.
Four Associates -- Mary Laubenthal, Paula Lyn, Cheryl Maggio and I -- met to go see the portrait of our treasured friend, Sr. Ann Dolores, OSF, who was part of the exhibit. This portrait usually hangs in St. Elizabeth Motherhouse but is currently on display in the gallery through September 1st. We'd encourage anyone who can visit the exhibit to do so.
Polly King was a prolific painter, who was well known in the town of Niagara Falls and married into the DiCamillo family. The staff at the museum were so kind, they made special arrangements to let us in although they were closed. They knew that several of us were on our way to St. Elizabeth Motherhouse for CARE and wouldn't be in town during their regular business hours. As a bonus, the very next exhibit room was about those who have gone over Niagara Falls and included pictures, newspaper articles and actual items that were used to go over the Falls. It was so fascinating. The whole museum, which included many other exhibits, was fantastic.
