Car Burglaries - Take Simple Precautions
There have been 197 car burglaries in The Woodlands since the first of the year to July 31.  43% of those thefts occured in unlocked cars. These are thefts of opportunity where theives only need to walk around and pull on car door handles.  If they find an unlocked car, they can see what they can get.

Twenty-seven of the burglaries have been in Grogans's Mill. A startling 73% of those in GM were from UNLOCKED CARS. Most of the problem has been in apartment complexes with some in the shopping center and a few in driveways.  Remember to lock your car even when you put it in the garage.

Township Elections as well as Presidential this November
While the media has focused on the presidential election this November, one that is also important to all residents of The Woodlands is The Woodlands Township election. There will be several campaign forums over the next few weeks which you can attend.  You can also find information on the candidates, their background and vision on the following web sites:
the Voter Awareness Council at    www.vactx.org
and the Montgomery County Tea Party at  www.usvotesmart.com .

This election has two groups with two distinctly visions for the future of The Woodlands. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the issues and the candidates.  It will make a difference in your daily life here in The Woodlands.
