Grogan's Mill Road Repair
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grogan's Mill Road under Woodlands Parkway was affected by a water main break.  Earlier this month work was done to determine the cause.    Full repairs will begin again after the holidays.  The GMVA has asked Precinct 3 to use better traffic control to get cars into one lane coming southbound.
Drainage Ditch Cleaning
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because of complaints from some homeowners when work was done Precinct 3 will only clean ditches in front of home when they are asked to do so by the homeowner.

If you want the ditch in front of your home to be cleaned, you can sumbit a service request online at the Precinct 3 website  or call them at 281-367-3977.

Christmas Decorations in Grogan's Mill Village
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The GMVA has put up decorations on all the entrance signs to our community. We are using a new contractor this year and they look better than ever.  Thanks to Jody Ronzio for arranging it.
Community Contributor Award
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The GMVA will be giving a Community Contributor Award to individuals who are recognized as helping the community.  Stay tuned for our first winner!

Fall Yard of the Month Awarded
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Fall Yard of the Month was awarded to Idalia Rodriguez and Nader Yekanizaree of the Elm Branch subdivision.  The couple and their three children have lived in their home in The Woodlands for sixteen years. Idalia is the gardener and plants flowers every season for color and texture.  The fall garden features chrysanthemums and sweet potato ivy.
In the spring and summer, the garden is alive with color from azaleas, impatiens, petunias and hibiscus.  This yard was nominated by a resident who has admired the yard throughout the year.
Going Away? - Request a Vacation Watch
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keep your home protected i f you are going away for the holidays.  The GMVA recommends that you ask the Sheriff for a Vacation Watch on your home.  Not only does this protect your home while you are away, it also increases the police presence in your neighborhood which protects your neighbors too.

The request can be filed at this link  http://www.mocosheriff.com/vacationdbz.cfm .  You can read their recommendations and rules at the same site.

Take the Pledge to Conserve Water
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Water-Wise Village Challenge promotes turning off sprinkler systems between October 15 and April 15. All residents of The Woodlands are invited to participate in the challenge. Each pledge - limited to one per household - will earn a contest point for the resident's village.
GMVA News
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There will be no monthly GMVA meeting in December.  In January we will be voting on some changes in the By-Laws which will allow the board to take actions by electronic communications.

The garden tower project we fund at Wilkerson Intermediate is back in operation with plants and equipment provided by your community association to help children learn about nature and life.

We are working on a new updated web site with more on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  Stay tuned, let us know if you have ideas on what we should do.
