News from the Gateway Mission Center
2022 Gateway Mission Center Family Retreat
Registration has been extended through March 21st!

LIVING THE RHYTHM OF THE MISSION PRAYER

For a number of years in our congregations, our retreats, and our personal prayer lives we have prayed:

God, where will your Spirit lead today?
Help me to be fully awake and ready to respond.
Grant me the courage to risk something new
And to be a blessing of your love and peace. Amen.

The Mission Prayer invites us to discover and live a way of life as individuals and communities where we slow down, truly see one another and the stranger, and risk a new level of openness in our relationships with God and one another.

Three simple words, Awaken, Risk, Bless, invite us to “spiritual and relational transformation” [Doctrine and Covenants 164:9b] individually and in community. Come join us as we explore “Living the Rhythm of the Mission Prayer.”

What: Climate Webinar - ”Issues in Eco-Justice: Going Deeper”

Follow-up Conversation – Sunday, April 3, 2022, 2pm PT (3pm MT, 4pm CT, 5pm ET, 12pm HT, 10pm London, 9am Sydney + 1 day)

Where: Online Ministry
Racial justice is deeply entangled in climate mitigation issues. In the past, ethnic communities provided time, labor, and lives to extract resources, till the land, and sustain the wealthy lifestyle of various dominant culture. In return the dominant cultures have not only used more than their fair share of the resources, but also added massive carbon emissions into the atmosphere. The resulting climate crises have deadly impact on the ethnic populations that supplied the lives and labor to extract the raw materials—and their descendants. Join us in exploring uncomfortable truths about systemic injustices and issues of conflict connected to climate change. Go deeper, opening yourself to the lessons provided by marginalized communities in touch with creation. Along with ethnic and indigenous leaders, we can unite to find a more hopeful way forward.

To connect to “Issues in Eco-Justice: Going Deeper” please register at https://www.cofchristclimatejustice.org.
If you registered for a past webinar or conversation, you do not need to register again. Once registered, you will be sent a Zoom link before each webinar, panel and conversation.
This is an online ministry sponsored by the Greater Pacific Northwest USA Mission Center for Community of Christ. The North American Climate Justice Team are the planners, with members from GPNWMC, Canada East, Canada West, IWMC, SPMC, and SPIMC.
