Reunion Recap

As first-time Reunion co-directors, we made plans and decisions based on several guiding principles:

• to create some space in the schedule that would allow the Spirit to breathe and let busy families and individuals catch their breaths
• to invite new people into the reunion experience with the idea of creating a pipeline of future attendees and volunteers
• adding time to the schedule for the guest minister to be with the teens.

Through this lens, we feel like the week was a success though we know there are things that need to be tweaked. We’ve received some good feedback from reunion participants and will take those comments into consideration as we plan for next year.

Some of the highlights of the week include:

• Uplifting and impassioned preaching and teaching by our guest minister, High Priest Matt Frizzell.
• Ministry of presence and blessing by four of Gateway Mission Center’s evangelists, Glenna and Jerry Henry, Jeanne Murphy, and Gordon Parrott.
• Together Time, which included all ages, working side-by-side to create banners to decorate the pavilion for worship, planting hostas and pollinators, and adding mulch to the new GaGa pit where our young children found competition and community.
• Ukelele lessons taught by Bradd Anderson and Tai Chi taught by Mark Franzblau.
• Cool temps for June, sunshine, and pool time.
• Beautiful music by our children, soloists, and duets coordinated by Deb Harder.

As we continue to ask the week’s question, God, where is your spirit leading next? it’s not too early to begin thinking about joining us, or people you’d like to invite who could benefit from time spent under nature’s canopy and in the warm presence we offer as the Community of Christ.

Save the Date!

Next year's reunion will be June 7-13, 2024.
