Exciting Volunteer Opportunity: Help Lead Girl Scout Troops at Oak Grove UMC!

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to our community and help shape the future of young girls? Oak Grove United Methodist Church is excited to announce an opportunity to be a part of something truly special—we are looking for volunteers to help co-lead Girl Scout Troops right here at our church!

We are seeking multiple volunteers who are willing to serve as co-leaders for one or more Girl Scout Troops. This is a wonderful chance to mentor, inspire, and walk alongside girls as they grow in confidence, leadership, and faith.

No previous experience with Girl Scouts is necessary—just a heart for service and a commitment to guiding young minds!

Interested? Join Us for an Info Meeting! We’ll be hosting an informational meeting on Monday, July 1st at 6:00 PM in Room 236. This will be a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and see if this is the right fit for you.

If you’ve ever felt called to support youth or simply want to make a positive impact, we’d love to have you join us on this journey.

Together, let’s help our girls grow strong in spirit, character, and leadership!

Join us for our indoor picnic on Thursday, July 17, in Whitehurst Hall. We’ll gather at 11:30 AM for social time and have lunch at 12 noon. Plan to enjoy hot dogs and hamburgers from the grill with plenty of fixin’s, salad and dessert. There will be a basket at our gathering for $5 donations to help cover the cost of the meal.

Following lunch, we’ll have a presentation by Officer Matthews from the Chesapeake Police Department. He will update us on staying safe in Chesapeake.

Sign up to attend by July 14. Sign-up sheets will be available in the adult Sunday School classrooms and on a table outside of Whitehurst Hall. You may also sign up by contacting Carol Avenson via email or phone.
