Advance Notice to All Parents: Location Change for November Parent Meeting

Attention 6th/7th Grade Parents

Traditionally the ICS Principal meets with all 6th/7th grade parents prior to one of the monthly parent meetings, for the purpose of answering parents' questions and concerns regarding their student's academic progress, as well as their social and psychological adjustment to life at ICS. This year's 6th/7th Grade Parent meeting will be held on November 12 at 6:00 PM, just prior to the November parent meeting (which starts at 7:00 PM). Both meetings will be held at ICS in the Lyceum.

Storage Space for Large Bags and Lunch Bags

Large bags (for athletics, fencing, dance, or other after school activities) can now be put in the small conference room just outside of Prof. Miranda's room at the beginning of school and picked up at the end of the day. In addition, there are now 2 bookcases in the west science wing (just outside of Mr. McFaul's room) which are for students to put their lunches if they don't want to carry them all day. Students can simply put their lunches on the bookcase shelves in the morning and come back at lunch to get their food.  Note: backpacks should remain with students - not placed in either of these storage areas.

We are continuing the popular tradition of selling beautiful white and red poinsettias from Squak Mountain Nursery. This fundraiser is to help offset the cost of graduation for the Class of 2014. You may order using the Online Order Form.

ICS Traffic Flow Procedure

ICS has an agreement with the neighborhood surrounding the school that all students and parents should be aware of and follow. 

• Everyone - parents and students - needs to abide by the entry/exit policy regarding driving through the neighborhood. 
• Enter the neighborhood on 111th and exit on 112th at all times. Do not enter the school on 112th in an attempt to bypass the line of traffic going into the school.
• Parents and carpool drivers are not to pick students up or drop them off on any streets surrounding the school.
• Everyone needs to make sure they heed all stop signs, both on public streets and at the campus exit.  (We have had videos of people not heeding the traffic signs).
• Everyone must make sure that they obey the 25 mph speed limit on the neighborhood streets and the 15 mph limit in the parking lot.
• Remember that the students have the right of way.  Please stop when a student wants to cross the street either in the driveway or at the entrance to the school.
• When picking up or dropping off your student, please pull far forward so that other students and their parents can enter the school and also drop off.
