The Foundation is trying to raise $25,000 to support the Indiana High School Mock Trial and We the People teams heading to their national competitions this spring.

Indiana H.S. Mock Trial State Finals Results
The Indiana Bar Foundation hosted the 2017 Indiana High School Mock Trial State Competition March 4-5 at the Indianapolis City-County Building and Indiana War Memorial. Twenty-four teams from 11 schools vied for the honor to be called this year's Mock Trial State Champion. 

After four rounds of intense competition, the top two teams that advanced the the championship round were America's Next Top Lawyer, Carmel High School, and Not Necessarily, John Adams High School. The final round was judged by Hon. Steven David, Hon. Larry McKinney, Hon. Martha Wentworth, and Susan Roberts.

Not Necessarily emerged as 2017 Indiana High School Mock Trial State Champion. They will compete in the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Hartford, Connecticut this May.

2017 Woods Dedication Award
Each year, the Indiana High School Mock Trial community submits nominations of teachers, coaches, administrators, and students who best symbolize Dennis Woods' enthusiasm and devotion to the Mock Trial program.

The Indiana Bar Foundation was pleased to present the 2017 Dennis Woods Dedication Award to Brian Gensel of Valparaiso. Brian is the elected prosecutor in Porter County. He teaches t rial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Valparaiso University's Law School and has coached the Mock Trial teams at Valparaiso High School for many years.

Congratulations, Brian, and thank you for your commitment to teaching young people about our legal system.
