We the People Elementary Showcase

Hon. Cale J. Holder Scholarship 
The Hon. Cale J. Holder Scholarship is awarded annually based on dedication to the administration of law, financial need, desire to be a practicing trial lawyer, capacity for leadership, academic achievement and military service. Online applications for the $4,000 scholarship are due May 10, 2019.
Significant Return on Investment through Civil Legal Aid
The necessity and importance of providing civil legal aid are clear from two studies released by Indiana's Coalition for Court Access. The Indiana Civil Legal Needs Study and the Economic Impact and Social Value Return on Investment Analysis provide insight for allocating civil legal aid resources and the return on investment for the State of Indiana when civil legal needs are met for low-income Hoosiers. 

For
 every $1 invested in Indiana's civil legal aid services, there is $6.70 in immediate and long-term consequential financial benefits. Read more about the Coalition for Court Access and both studies here.

CLE Opportunity on May 2
Indianapolis Legal Aid Society will host its 7th Annual  Timeless Tips from the Bench and Bar CLE at the Indianapolis Marriott North  on Thursday, May 2. Participants will receive 6 CLE hours plus 1 hour of ethics. Find more information and registration here.
Indiana Teams Head to Nationals
Hamilton Southeastern High School's We the People team at a practice session hosted by Faegre Baker Daniels.
 
This weekend, two Indiana teams from Hamilton Southeastern and Fishers High Schools will compete at the We the People National Finals. The We the People National Invitational, where Fishers Junior High School and Kingsway Christian School will compete, is the following weekend. Trinity School at Greenlawn, South Bend, will represent Indiana at the National Mock Trial Championship May 16-18.

Hon. Brent Dickson Portrait Unveiling
 
The Foundation was honored to attend former Chief Justice Dickson's portrait unveiling at the Indiana Supreme Court on April 16. The portrait was made possible by generous donations to the Indiana Bar Foundation.
