Your Role in the Mission
With pride, we share with you the 2017 annual report to reflect the accomplishments you helped produce. The children educated. The Hoosiers served with legal aid. The attorneys and judges who reflect the ideals of this profession, and the private citizens who embrace this mission.
Judge Avery Honored
On June 8, Hon. David Avery, Allen County Superior Court, received the Pro Bono Award for Passion and Excellence from the Volunteer Lawyer Program of Northeast Indiana (VLP). Judge Avery is the former chair of the Indiana Pro Bono Commission and on the board of the VLP. The event, held in Fort Wayne, recognized Judge Avery's consistent and dedicated commitment to pro bono services in Indiana.
July 12 Larry Landis Celebration
For 40 years, Larry Landis, Executive Director of the Public Defender Council, has devoted himself to the improvement of the quality of representation to those charged with crimes. Larry has invested much time and knowledge into developing a program that teaches IU McKinney students trial advocacy in the courtroom in both criminal and civil cases.

On July 12, the current Trial Advocacy adjuncts, with the Indianapolis Legal Aid Society, invite you to a reception and dinner to celebrate Larry's contributions to the legal profession. Please join this celebration!
