ICCIE Selects Michael Douglas

For Initial Captive Education Leader Award

At the recently-completed VCIA conference ICCIE announced and presented its first ever Captive Education Leader award. The award is an annual recognition for an individual who has made outstanding contributions as a captive insurance educator. Nominations for next year’s award can be made until October 31^st on the ICCIE website (https://iccie.org/captive-education-leader-award/). 

This year’s award, presented during VCIA’s General Session, was granted to Michael Douglas. Congratulations, Michael!

Karin Landry Awarded ICCIE Fellow

At the same presentation ICCIE presented captive veteran Karin Landry with the ICCIE Fellow designation. The ICCIE Fellow designation is reserved for individuals who have attained the highest educational standard offered by ICCIE (the Associate in Captive Insurance – maintained in good standing) and who have also made a major contribution to the industry, which may take several forms. ICCIE Fellow nominations may be made on the ICCIE website:

VCIA Distinguished Scholar Award

Every year ICCIE honors VCIA’s role in creating the industry’s education program by offering a full ACI scholarship to an individual from a member organization. This year’s award was given to Steven Gruber. Congratulations, Steven!

ICCIE’s Anniversary Event

Thank you to everyone who attended the ICCIE Anniversary Celebration the evening before VCIA at the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center. The new venue, between Lake and Battery Streets in downtown Burlington, was a great choice for the event, which also featured a 50-50 raffle (the winner took home $800) and a wine pull fundraiser. Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped us celebrate!
