Neighborhood Tree Planting this month!

The Kerns neighborhood tree planting event is on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9 AM - 1 PM.

We'd love to have more Kerns neighbors volunteer on planting day and help build a stronger Kerns community!

We have a volunteer role for everyone! The opportunities include planting trees, transporting trees with your pick-up truck, making a dish for the community potluck, setup, and cleanup.

Buckman Pool to be Closed Permanently

A request by Mayor Hales for all departments to propose a 5% budget cut results in Buckman Pool being permanently closed.

Portland Parks & Recreation will be submitting a budget that reflects up to 5% reductions - your feedback will help guide our choices....

Kerns Neighborhood Tree Planting
  Saturday, January 23, 2016
This year, the Kerns neighborhood tree planting event is on Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 9 AM - 1 PM. Mark your calendars!

We'd love to have more Kerns neighbors plant trees and volunteer with us and help build a stronger Kerns community! Location TBD.

Interested in planting a tree at your home? You can sign up to see the trees ideal for your planting space at friendsoftrees.org, or by calling 503-595-0212. Trees this year are $35. The tree cost includes a quality 8-12' tree, street tree inspection (ensuring right tree, right place), hole digging, planting, stakes, follow-up monitoring, and information on tree care.
