The City of Fallon features their annual Christmas Tree Lighting on December 7, and Maine Street will once again be aglow. This Christmas tradition is a joyous event in Fallon when the community turns out for carolers, cookies and hot chocolate, the first glimpse of Santa and to watch the Christmas tree light up downtown Maine Street.

Austin's Live Nativity remains a seasonal favorite each and every year. The festivities take place on Tuesday, December 11, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Always a popular community event, it features local volunteer actors, live animals, and beautiful singing. Afterward, attendees can enjoy cookies, hot chocolate, and a turkey giveaway raffle. Make sure to attend this very special event and get in the holiday spirit!

Experience the magic of Chris Van Allsburg's classic children's book "The Polar Express," as it comes to life on the rails of the Nevada Northern Railway.
This very special journey takes you from Ely, Nevada, on a special trip right to the North Pole. Santa's Elves are honored that Nevada Northern Railway's Polar Express train has been voted as the "Best Special Event in Rural Nevada" by readers of Nevada Magazine.
Each passenger to the North Pole are served hot chocolate and cookies while listening to the beloved story of the Polar Express and music from the Polar Express soundtrack. Many of Santa's helpers are on-board to help you enjoy the trip. Everyone experiences that magic moment when the train arrives at the North Pole and Santa Claus himself is waiting! Santa will board The Polar Express and personally present each child their own special gift.
