Name Change to
'LPGA Amateur Golf
The email sent last week by Jane Geddes, CEO, explained that after surveying our Membership, it became clear that a revision of our name was necessary to express more clearly who we are. So we are now  LPGA AGA .
To Pauline Whalen and Terry Fraser on winning First Place in their flight at the MGA Women's Senior Amateur Four-Ball Championship - and by 5 strokes!
League Subbing
At the beginning of the season, we are all anxious to get the golf season started, so we sign up for Pay-As-You Play (PAYP) leagues or to sub on a league or two. That's great, BUT now the season is under way, have you actually played or subbed?

The gals who run those PAYP leagues, spend time picking the courses and making tee times. And everyone who plays on a prepaid league depends on subs for the dates they can't play. So this is a reminder: If you signed up for the PAYP or to sub, please try to fill some spots when needed.

Golf Rules!
If you want to brush up on your golf rules and/or golf etiquette, we recommend the following two documents:  The  Simplified Rules of Golf   (provided by the MGA) and  Golf Etiquette Overview .
It's good sportsmanship to not pick up lost golf balls while they are still rolling.

Sunday Golf at Southern Hills
July 29th
Sunday Golf is back in July and we will be at Southern Hills in Farmington, MN. Southern Hills is a par 71 that offers a fun and challenging layout for all skills. This is a recreational golf outing for intermediate and advanced golfers.

We have four tee times starting at 10 AM and member's cost will be the twilight rate of $27 ($41 to ride)
Sign up on our website and pay at the course.
Board of Directors Openings for Next Year
Next year there will be openings on our Board that will need to be filled by members.  Our Chapter would not be able to exist without members volunteering to serve in these Board positions.  So think about how much you enjoy the golf and have benefited from the activities offered.  Is it time for you to consider stepping up? Elections will take place in the fall.
2019 KPMG Women's PGA Championship Volunteer Opportunity
June 18 - 23, 2019 at Hazeltine National Golf Club

This is the first time for this major championship to be held in Minnesota. The Minnesota Metro Chapter of LPGA AGA has been given the opportunity to marshal Hole No. 16 at the championship. This is a par 4 and we are the only group on the hole!
Schedule of events:
  • Tuesday: Pro-Am
  • Wednesday: Practice round
  • Thursday & Friday; rounds 1 and 2 with 156 players
  • Saturday: Round 3 (Low 70 players)
  • Sunday: Final Round
Since we have more slots available than we did at the Ryder Cup, members will be able to register on a "first come, first served" basis starting July 16. We have until fall to fill our slots.
Some of the details:
  • The marshal slots are available only to Chapter members in good standing.
  • We have a total of 23 slots for marshals and the number per shift will vary (we will need to cover all days at some level)
  • The fee is $120.00 and volunteers are expected to work 4 shifts (approximately 4 hours each)
  • All volunteers will get a uniform (golf shirt, headwear, jacket), credential with grounds access for the week, complimentary parking and meal/water vouchers
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Angie Christo ( for more information. The Chapter needs to provide additional information for our members to register as volunteers.
