We are looking forward to reopening soon and are taking steps to do so in a way that best protects our visitors, volunteers, and staff. More information with specific details will be provided in the coming weeks.

We miss you and look forward to welcoming you back to the Millyard Museum and Research Center soon!

Support MHA through NH Gives

These are challenging times for many non-profits throughout the region. Although we have receiving some emergency relief funding that has allowed our staff to continue to work and provide programming throughout the pandemic, we are anticipating a deficit of about $50,000 due to COVID-19. This is primarily due to decreased museum traffic, cancelled tours, and decreased projections for our largest fundraiser, the Historic Preservation Awards.

To help offset this shortage, we are asking our members and supporters to consider making a gift to the MHA through NH Gives.

NH Gives, a flash fundraising platform provided by the NH Center for Nonprofits, will be taking place from 6pm tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9 th through 6pm on Wednesday, June 10 th .

By giving during this window you:

·         Help us close the gap for our 2020 funding shortage
·         Give us the opportunity to win prizes from the Center for Nonprofits
·         Help us receive a matching donation for the first $1,000 from the NH Charitable
Foundation

Here is how to support us during this 24-hour fundraising blast:
·         Go to the NH Gives page for the MHA: https://www.nhgives.org/organizations/manchester-historic-association
·         Click on donate – please give whatever amount you are comfortable with.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to show their support to the MHA in the midst of this pandemic. We appreciate your support!

P.S. - If you are unable to give during the NH Gives window, you can still support the MHA by donating directly to  https://www.manchesterhistoric.org/donations

2019 Annual Report

The Manchester Historic Association's 2019 Annual Report is now available! Please click on the above link to view or download the report.

Print copies of the Report will also be available at the front desks of the Millyard Museum and Research Center once we reopen.

We hope you enjoy reading about some of the highlights from the past year!
History at Home Worksheets
Since temporarily closing in March, the MHA has been producing worksheets about Manchester history. It is our hope that, during these times when many parents are put into the role of teacher, these free resources can be used to teach children (and adults!) about the rich history of Manchester and her people.

New activities continue to be posted regularly. You can access all worksheets on our website and through our Facebook page.

Below are links to several worksheets. Keep checking our website and Facebook page for new ones!

Virtual Tour of the Millyard Museum

Did you know you can take a virtual tour of the Millyard Museum? Our mobile tour consists of 18 different stops in the museum's permanent Woven In Time exhibit. Each stop features original audio, historic imagery, and a written introduction about the exhibit. The stops expand on one aspect of the story, providing detail that visitors wouldn't otherwise learn about.

The tour is available at millyard.oncell.com for viewing and people can use their personal smartphones and tablets from anywhere to access the content.

28th Annual Historic Preservation Awards
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we had to postpone the 28th Annual Historic Preservation Awards, originally scheduled for May 12, 2020.

Instead, we are planning a virtual event to recognize this year's worthy recipients and will be announcing details in the coming weeks.
