MRD News: Montrose Community Recreation Center
Photos Selected from Community Submissions

The Montrose Recreation District, working in close conjunction with one of the many local firms building the CRC, In Design Signs, has selected the photos to be used in the Community Recreation Center.  We were fortunate to receive over 250 photos from scores of local photographers.  Not only were we impressed with the great skills of many local photographers, but we were reminded of the beauty of Montrose and the surrounding area.  We are so lucky to call this amazing place home.  The Community Recreation Center will celebrate much of what makes Montrose so special.

Selected photos will be used on large interior displays in the lap pool, leisure pool, lobby and fitness area.  The names of the photographers will be listed at the bottom of each display; this is how we decided to thank the photographers since all photos were donated.  We endeavored to enable local photographers an opportunity to widely display their work (the CRC will be a very busy place) and to further ownership in their Community Recreation Center.  We also made an effort to include as many different photographers as possible.

Given the strong response (thanks to all of those that submitted!), we had some tough choices to make.  Fit and suitability, along with resolution, quality and relevance for Montrose, were the main selection criteria.  This was an opportunity to celebrate the natural heritage and beauty of our community, and the community responded. Please see images below showing image location in the CRC and the name of the photographer.  Thanks again to all who participated!
